Evolutionary algorithm to design high-cooperativity optical cavities

Abstract Using an evolutionary algorithm combined with a gradient descent method we design optical cavities significantly enhanced strong coupling rates between cavity photons and single quantum emitter. Our approach allows us to find specially designed non-spherical mirrors which lead high-finesse eigenmodes large field enhancement at the center of cavity. The is based on adding consecutive perturbations initial spherical mirror shape using for optimization. We present profiles suitable fabrication demonstrate higher cooperativity than any same size. Finally, numerically how such enhances operation frequency purity Ca+ ion fiber photon.
